Was lucky to play there during 1999 ( just before our band had interest from Geffen but we split 😔). Still missed so much by myself and so many others. R.I.P you beautiful thing. (Rik) - Once the Robin Hood, renamed The Duchess of York, a very special pub and venue that saw a variety of landlords, a multitude of bar staff, thousands of bands and squillions of customers, it found a place in the heart of everyone who visited. Closed it's doors for the last time on the 26th of March 2000. Sadly missed by all mentioned here...

Musician run, the Huddersfield, West Yorkshire based social enterprise "Timeless Music Project" had grown increasingly frustrated by the lack of real support for the region's musicians and music industry at international music conferences (unlike other regions of the UK which were very busy) and so took matters into its own hands. Mostly on a voluntary basis and with very limited funding, local musician Pat Fulgoni and the good ship Timeless Music Project got things moving, promoting Yorkshire music internationally via conferences including SXSW and MIDEM between 2006 and 2012, via events including sync parties in Los Angeles, New York Fashion week, Summersonic in Tokyo and Beijing Midi Festival, even becoming a key partner in the British Music Partnership stand. Projects included making the case for and delivering the only "all Yorkshire" showcases at SXSW USA in 2009, 2010 and 2011 (rip) at the British Music Embassy until the project suddenly couldn't get any funding (go figure and er why did a recent Northern Powerhouse showcase in our very slot not feature any Yorkshire bands?). Anyway our showcasing bands included Wild Beasts, Pulled Apart By Horses, Paul Marshall, Dinosaur Pile Up, Rolo Tomassi, David Thomas Broughton, One Night Only, Slow Club, Grammatics, The Crookes, Middleman, Sky Larkin ….. and we were able to help many more with 6 years of tastemaker compilation CDs, seminars and advice.
